EXPLORING HIMACHAL PRADESH
Hey there, Myself Sakshi currently living in another state but basically
belong to “Harsar Dehri” – an unknown village in Kangra distt.
My childhood
was well spent in Himachal .Every year I go there to Explore more &
more places.So according to me I can perfectly describe most of the
places of Himachal . Even my parents are typical Himachalis..
Following are some lost places which you may not have seen. :)
1.Bathu Ki Ladi (बाथू की लड़ी)
The Bathu temples known locally as 'Bathu ki ladi' is a cluster of
temples in the Kangra district of Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
These temples were submerged in Maharana Pratap Sagar, a reservoir
created by Pong dam in the early 1970s.
2. Masroor Temple
The Masrur Temples, also referred to as Masroor
Temples or Rock-cut Temples at Masrur, is an early 8th-century complex
of rock-cut Hindu temples in the Kangra Valley of Beas River in Himachal
Pradesh, India. The temples face northeast, towards the Dhauladhar
range of the Himalayas
3. Pandoh Dam
The Pandoh Dam is an embankment dam on the Beas River in Mandi
district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Under the Beas Project, the dam was
completed in 1977 and its primary purpose is hydroelectric power
generation.
4.Baijnath Temple
Baijnath Temple is a Nagara style Hindu temple situated in a small
town of Baijnath located in Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh, India,
and was built in 1204 A.D. by two local merchants named Ahuka and
Manyuka. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Vaidyanath, ‘the Lord of
physicians’.
5.Prashar Rishi Temple
Located at an altitude of 2730 mtr. Prashar is known for Prashar lake,
sloppy meadows, dense forest and the panoramic view of snow clad ranges
of Dhauladhar. The “Prashar Lake” which has perimeter of about 300 mtr.
is decorated by a floating island in it. Its crystal clear water adds to
the charm of this scenic spot.
